Dihydrocodeine 30mg Tablets, manufactured by Bristol Laboratories, are prescription-only opioid analgesics indicated for the relief of moderate to severe pain. Each tablet contains 30 mg of dihydrocodeine tartrate and is formulated for oral administration.​

Indications:

These tablets are used to manage various painful conditions where an alert. patient is desired, including sciatica, osteoarthritis, chronic rheumatoid arthritis, arthritis of the spine, peripheral vascular disease, post-herpetic neuralgia, Paget’s disease, malignant disease, and post-operative pain. Due to their minimal respiratory depression at recommended doses, they are particularly useful in post-operative settings to reduce the risk of chest complications.

• Adults and children over 12 years: One tablet every 4–6 hours as needed, with a maximum of 180 mg (6 tablets) in 24 hours.

• Elderly: Dosage should be reduced, as advised by a physician.

• Children aged 4–12 years: 0.5 to 1.0 mg/kg body weight every 4–6 hours; a more suitable dosage form (e.g., elixir) is recommended for this age group.​Children under 4 years: Not recommended.​

It is recommended that the tablets be taken during or after food.

• Metabolism: The drug undergoes hepatic metabolism via O- and N-demethylation.
