Pregabalin Dr. Reddy’s 300mg Hard Capsules are prescription medications used for the treatment of peripheral and central neuropathic pain, partial-onset seizures (as adjunctive therapy), and Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD) in adults. Each size 0 capsule has an opaque red cap and opaque white body, imprinted with “RDY” on the cap and “298” on the body in black ink. The capsules contain 300 mg of pregabalin and are intended for oral administration. They may be taken with or without food, and dosing should be adjusted based on individual response and renal function.

• Neuropathic Pain: Start at 150 mg/day in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased to 300 mg/day after 3 to 7 days, and if needed, to a maximum of 600 mg/day after an additional 7-day interval.​

• Epilepsy (Adjunctive Therapy): Begin with 150 mg/day in two or three divided doses. The dose may be increased to 300 mg/day after one week, with a maximum of 600 mg/day achievable after an additional week.​

Dosage adjustments are necessary for patients with renal impairment, based on creatinine clearance Pregabalin levels.

Warnings and Precautions:

• Hypersensitivity: Discontinue use if symptoms of angioedema, such as facial, perioral, or upper airway swelling, occur.​

• Severe Cutaneous Adverse Reactions (SCARs): Rare cases, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis, have been reported. Monitor patients for skin reactions and discontinue if such reactions are suspected.​

• CNS Effects: Dizziness and somnolence may increase the risk of accidental injury, particularly in the elderly. Advise patients to exercise caution until they are familiar with the drug’s effects.​

• Vision-Related Effects: Blurred vision has been reported; these symptoms often resolve with continued treatment or upon discontinuation.​

• Respiratory Depression: Use with caution in patients with compromised respiratory function, especially Pregabalin when combined with CNS depressants.​

• Suicidal Ideation and Behaviour: Monitor patients for signs of depression, suicidal thoughts, or behaviour.​

• Misuse, Abuse Potential, or Dependence: Cases have been reported; monitor patients for signs of misuse or dependence.​

• Withdrawal Symptoms: Symptoms such as insomnia,Pregabalin  headache, nausea, anxiety, diarrhoea, flu syndrome, nervousness, depression, pain, suicidal ideation, convulsion, hyperhidrosis, and dizziness have been reported upon discontinuation.
